@DT Here is an article I found but when I get some time, this topic would make a great post. http://www.hufkens.net/2008/09/loading-remote-swf-files-in-air/. I think this can be handled a bit differently if you have the swf files packaged with your AIR application, but you may also want to look at Flex modules. I hope this helps.

@DT There are ways to load/pre-load numerous .swf files that can be packaged as part of your AIR application, but I am not sure that you can have other AIR applications packaged into one AIR application. I would take this question to James Ward, he did a presentation that I attended at the Tampa JUG and he might be able to address this question a bit better than I can. I know that an installed AIR application has the same rights as the current user so if permitted you can read and write files on the native system. If the other AIR application is not packaged with your installed AIR application, you would need to find out that it is installed and get it started.I hope this helps.

Hello.
As a new AIR developer, I enjoyed your article & learned a few things from it. Thanks!!!

A side question:
How do i call a AIR-based app from within another AIR app? Perhaps the following example mks my question somewhat clearer:

Let's say that i have a an AIR app (desktop mode, not being invoked via a browser/flash) such that when it is executed it displays a page with a clickable links. What i want to happen is that when the user clicks on the link, it invokes another AIR app (with its bits already loaded/available on the machine (desktop/laptop, ...))

So, any pointers as of how i would do this is aprecaited.

Thx a bunch in advance.
